چکیده

Abstract Short-period magnetic enhancements were detected by the MAP-LMAG magnetometer onboard Kaguya orbiting moon in solar wind at an altitude of 100 km. The duration was typically 10 s, which corresponds to 0.5 degrees latitude along orbit and a scale size 15 magnitude field enhanced up 1.5–3.6 times as large that preceding quiet periods. No such found upstream field. short-period categorized into 2 groups. One is sub-ion-gyro-scale limb compression terminator region nearly constant flared away from consistently with previously known compressions. deduced 11 km, 85 small reported It significantly smaller than typical proton gyroradius 50–100 km 1AU. other types appeared crossings discontinuities wind. Finite size scaling in the solar wind magnetic field energy density as seen by WIND

Finite size scaling in the solar wind magnetic field energy density as seen by WIND Abstract. Statistical properties of the interplanetary magnetic field fluctuations can provide an important insight into the solar wind turbulent cascade. Recently, analysis of the Probability Density Functions (PDF) of the velocity and magnetic field fluctuations has shown that these exhibit non-Gaussian proper...

Scale-dependence of Magnetic Helicity in the Solar Wind

We determine the magnetic helicity, along with the magnetic energy, at high latitudes using data from the Ulysses mission. The data set spans the time period from 1993 to 1996. The basic assumption of the analysis is that the solar wind is homogeneous. Because the solar wind speed is high, we follow the approach first pioneered by Matthaeus et al. (1982, Phys. Rev. Lett. 48, 1256) by which, und...

Solar wind induced magnetic field around the unmagnetized Earth

The Earth is a planet with a dipolar magnetic field which is agitated by a magnetized plasma wind streaming from the Sun. The magnetic field shields the Earth’s surface from penetrating high energy solar wind particles, as well as interstellar cosmic rays. The magnetic dipole has reversed sign some hundreds of times over the last 400 million years. These polarity reversals correspond to drastic...

Photochemical degradation of azure-b with sulphate radical ion generated by peroxydisulphate ion with cupric ion

In this paper, the photochemical degradation of azure-b by Cu2+/S2O82− process has beenpresented. Cu2+ as photocatalyst and S2O82− ion as photooxidant used in this process. Atextremely low concentrations, cupric ion showed true catalytic activity in the overall process. The influence of various parameters on the performance of the treatment process has beenconsidered, such as pH, concentration o...
